Belief
Baptism expresses belief. Either the belief of the person being baptised, or in the case of children, the belief of the parents or legal guardians. Christian belief centres around the person of Jesus. In particular faith is placed in his death, burial and resurrection from the dead, as the sole means by which all human wrongdoing is dealt with, and by which a way is opened for us to live forever in heaven. Christian belief also offers a life now that has all the possibility of being a richer and more fulfilling experience by putting faith in Jesus.
In the baptism service six important questions are asked of the candidates or their parents about their belief and faith, and their commitment to living their faith day by day.
