What about marriage preparation?

At Holy Trinity we want you to be as prepared as possible to enter into the commitment of marriage. It is a requirement at Holy Trinity that you attend a preparation evening which explores the high ideals of Christian marriage. It provides a safe place where you are encouraged to talk privately with each other about your hopes, expectations, fears and anxieties about being married. Some of the things you may never have talked about before even if you have been living together for some time. The evening does not attempt to pry into your private life but does seek to help you to talk, and continue to talk in the future, about what it means to be married.

At Holy Trinity you will also be offered the opportunity to explore the context of the wedding service with a short course lasting eight sessions. It is not specifically about marriage but looks at the basics of the Christian faith and what it means for today. At the end of the course a person will better understand the meaning and importance of the promises they will make. Most of the people who have done it have said it is enjoyable, helpful and useful.
