Prayers for our Church
We thank you Lord for the work and life of our church. Give us we pray a clearer vision of the work you have set before us and for a better understanding of your Gospel. May we find in our hearts deeper commitment in your service and greater love for all your people. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
Most merciful Father, you have called us to be a caring church, reflecting in our lives your infinite care for all your children. Help us to fulfil our calling and to care for one another in an unselfish fellowship of love; and to care for the world around us in sharing the good news of your love and serving those who suffer from poverty, hunger and disease. We ask it in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We thank you Father for the many diverse gifts you have given your people. We pray that those called to exercise their gift in ministry in the church may be guided by your word and attentive and obedient to your will. Amen
We pray for those who preach and lead worship in Holy Trinity. We pray that their inner lives may accord with their words, and that their words may accord with your word. Keep them holy in the service of your Church and give us, we pray, leaders whom we may follow with confidence and trust. Help us not just to be hearers of your word but doers also and grant that we may receive the ministries of those who lead our church with thankfulness and goodwill. For Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen
God of all heaven and earth, you throne is surrounded by the praise of all the company of heaven. We pray for those who lead us in music and song. May the song on their lips be the song of their hearts also, and may their music lead us into the joy and peace of heaven, where we may offer you our worship in love and wonder and praise. Amen
We pray for those who are charged with teaching our children the good news of the Gospel. May their work be inspired by your Holy Spirit. May it speak of your abundant love and may it lay a firm foundation of faith in the lives our young people. Lord raise up a new generation of faithful Christians from amongst the young people of our land and may our church play a full part in that work. Amen.
Father we pray that even now you would be at work in our young people to put in their hearts such an understanding of your gospel for the whole world, for people of every tribe and language and race and nation, that they may give themselves to your service and follow you wherever you may lead them, that the good news may be spread to the ends of the earth. Amen.
We pray, Father, that when it comes to the hard things we may not be found faithless. Help us to know the spiritual blessing of giving, and to share together in supporting the work of your church as we give from all the abundant provision that you have given us. May our church not have too much, Father, lest we cease to rely on you, but also may we not look for an excuse to avoid being faithful in every way, even with our money. Amen
O Lord convert the world and begin with me. Amen.
