For Juan Carlos and Penny Marcés and their children Rebeca, Lizi and Jonny in Peru as they lead the communities at Jesus le Salvador and the church plant in the shanty town of Oasis a few miles away.
· Pray that the celebrations for 25 years of an Anglican presence in Villa de Salvador may have been an encouragement to Christians and a challenge to many others in the area.
· The Executive Board of SAMS has decided that the SAMS should join together with CMS UK next year. This will mean that staff will have to decide if they want to move to Oxford and join the staff of CMS. The two societies are now advertising for someone as the 'Mission Director for South America' who is 'relational, an excellent communicator and experienced at managing people through change'. Interviews are on 6th August.
· Penny has asked us to especially pray for Rebecca as she travels each day by bus to University (more than one hour each way) and also for the spiritual life of all the children who face lots of pressures at this time.
· Pray for someone to take over as SAMS secretary for Holy Trinity
Father we thank you that you raise up leaders of your people in every land. We thank you for Jaun carlos and his leadership of the El Salvador Church amongst the poor people of Lima. We pray you may strengthen him for the work and also his work in training leaders from many denominations to run the Alpha courses. We pray too for Penny in her work amongst the women and young people of the parish. Bless them and their family and may their church grow strong in faith. Amen
