Prayers for our Parish
We thank you Father for the place in which you have called us to live, or work and worship. As you sent your Son Jesus Christ into our world to bring the light of your love into our darkness, so may we seek to go in your name to the people we live and work amongst and be for them the light of your presence. Amen
We pray for those who live and work in the Chelmsford Prison. For those who have responsibility for the welfare and health of the inmates. May their be a desire to nurture and affirm what is good and to challenge what is unjust or evil. We pray for the Governors and their staff, who are responsible for the working practices, and for the prison officers who are in daily contact with inmates. We pray too for the medical staff, the occupational workers and the chaplaincy team that their work may provide an renewing and redeeming place for those whose lives have become diminished by their behaviour. Amen
We pray for those in our parish who are suffering distress because of anti social behaviour, especially in the streets of Shelly Road and Byron Road. We ask that you would overcome all fear and that those who cause distress may be brought to think again about what they are doing. We ask you protection from all violence and racial or social prejudice for those who live and work in our neighbourhood. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
We pray especially for those who have asked us to pray for them by the prayer request cards or by leaving a prayer in our church porch. Bless all who have trusted us to pray for them. In Jesus name Amen
We pray for all Christian people who live in our neighbourhood who share fellowship in other churches. Bless the Springfield Park Baptist Church and their ministers as they serve our community in the name of Jesus. Amen
We pray for those who are of senior age amongst us. For those who are living in Balmoral Court, St. Anne’s Court, Cobbs Place, and Peverel House. We thank you for the wisdom and experience of age and we pray that as we all approach our older years, yet may we be inwardly renewed, day by day, with the life and joy of the Gospel of Christ. Amen.
Father we thank you that you have made us people who need each other and rely on the support and help of our fellow human beings. We thank your for the good work of so many organisations located in our parish and we pray especially for those who work for the Lighthouse Trust, for Age Concern, Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Awareness, Changes counselling and needle exchange, Hearing Help Essex and many others. May their work help to build and
