EVENTS
Is a group for young people aged 14 and upwards which is working to enable them to make the transition from children’s worship in the church, to taking a full and active part in the worship and fellowship life of the adult congregation.
We aim to provide:-
1. continuity with the approach taken for nurturing younger children;
2. distinctive identity for youth members in the church;
3. The opportunity for teenagers and young adults to grow in confidence in their belonging and contribution in the whole church.
The young people of the group are welcomed in our worship and have every opportunity to serve on the various ministry teams that contribute to worship. As a distinct group they meet in the evenings twice a month and attend local youth services in the area as well as meeting at a local venue for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. 4 times a year an overnight event includes social activities such as Bowling, ice skating etc., Food, Bible study, prayer and a sleep over at the Church Centre. One of these events may be planned at an alternative venue and be extended over a Friday and Saturday night.
'GQ' members may also be ‘Young leaders’ in Planet Life where they have further opportunity to grow in personal ministries in the church.
The group is led by a team of six leaders who exercise the common team values of Leading, Helping, and Time Off as in all other aspects of youth leadership ministry
